KraussMaffei has recently launched a new digital service product called the "Lifecycle Value Calculator." This tool aims to support plastic processing companies in reducing operational costs and carbon emissions by monitoring production data and optimizing production processes.

For plastic processing companies, 80 percent to 90 percent of the lifecycle costs of production equipment, such as injection molding machines, occur during the operational phase. Hidden costs such as energy consumption, materials, maintenance, and downtime are often not accurately quantified. Furthermore, a significant portion of carbon emissions, ranging from 60 to 70 percent, is generated during the operational phase of production.

The "Lifecycle Value Calculator" helps clients monitor various production parameters and quantify the maximum potential for economic and ecological optimization during equipment operation. Through data visualization, clients gain insights into fluctuations in material quality and environmental factors that can impact scrap rates. Additionally, the tool allows clients to calculate metrics such as carbon emissions, energy consumption, waste-related costs, and income lost due to downtime. This comprehensive analysis empowers clients to optimize their production processes more effectively.

The "Lifecycle Value Calculator" tool is currently available for free to KraussMaffei clients in Europe and North America on the official KraussMaffei website. It covers a wide range of technologies including injection molding, extrusion, and reaction processes. KraussMaffei is also in the process of launching localized versions of the tool for other countries and regions.
